Navman F35 Review

Stepped to the core, the Navman F35 SatNav delivers high quality GPS services without the frills that can bring the price up. Navman has put in it only those features that truly matter to the motorist, sacrificing as little as possible along the way.
So if you only need the basic GPS functionality with ease of use at a rock bottom price, look no farther, the Navman F35 easily covers the low end markets for its new generation of SatNav gadgets. But let there be no mistake about it, this is not a cheap GPS device with cheap features. The F35 provides you the most for the little that it asks.

Excellent Features Without Breaking the Bank

The handset measures a compact 77 x 111.5 x 20 mm weighing just 138g on a stylish body sporting a 3.5 inch touchscreen LCD display that provides crisp brilliant colors on its 320 x 240 pixel resolution. Just like its other siblings in the F series, it uses the same Samsung 2450 CPU clocked at 400 MHz as well the SiRFstarIII with InstantFixII GPS receiver for 5 times faster GPS satellite connection.
  • You get the usual basic GPS features that allow you to find your destination with just the postcode or address with which it recommends as many routes using the street level UK maps supplied from Tele Atlas. It includes maps from 23 other European countries which Navman has simplified for easier reading. The result is TruMap™ where the graphics are better presented where your car icon on the road stands out over a lighter background for effortless viewing under any lighting condition.
  • The F35 has intelligent Night/Day display feature of its more expensive siblings allowing the screen to automatically adjust to a lower brightness at night for a less distractive display that otherwise could interfere with safe driving.
  • Along the way to your destination, you get spoken turn by turn direction instructions with the usual safety camera database alerting you of any camera on the road so you don’t go over speeding at certain critical places and prevent getting traffic violation fines.
  • You also get points of interests from its preloaded database of geo tagged images that you can use to help you find your destination in the absence of postcodes or addresses.
Simple and Direct to the Point

Using the F35 is both refreshing and a reminder what a basic GPS SatNav is supposed to do for you. Nothing fancy like media players which, while convenient to have, don’t affect any of the basic function of helping you navigate your way to your destination.
Even WiFi would be great so you can be online in hotspots as well as Bluetooth to pair with your mobile phone for hands free calling. But going without them doesn’t diminish a GPS device that does its job right to start with. At a very affordable price, you get a great value GPD device that seldom disappoints.

What the Package Contains

As usual, you get an in vehicle charger that connects to the car’s cigarette lighter. There’s a complete user’s documentation on CD and a mounting bracket as well.
